Does anyone know how to get vomit smell out of car vents?

I got the flu last week and ended up projectile vomiting all over my windshield when I was driving home from work. I also fainted from a combo of the fever and not being able to throw up at a different time. Fun stuff, thanks children.

Anyway, I got most of the smell out except something must have leaked down the defroster vents, now when I turn on the heater, it smells. I put in a new cabin air filter, but that didn't help really.

Can I make a solution of vinegar and water and spray it down the vent?

Febreze works wonders. That stuff is OP.

Dryer sheets are pretty good for absorbing odors, hope your feeling better.
