My review on the Anthem VIP Demo.

In my spare time (which I have little of) I have been playing around with starting up a page to do game reviews and talk about gameplay as well as games in general. It's going slow, but again I haven't pushed it too hard. Either way, here is my take on Anthem after playing it for a bit.

I have built far better cities than that, but I get it, this is your moment and you want to show off, so I won't embarrass you and show my superior abilities in cityplanning, particularly in the Sid Meier department, but I do feel like I need to bring this up to put your unseemly gloating in perspective. I've also built a terran city in StarCraft, so even the space angle you are bringing up is not terribly interesting to me because the Terren cities I made were able to lift up off the ground and move away from a Protoss or Zerg attack. This concept might be something you could master if I took the time to explain my strategy in that game, but I need to see more initiative and creativity on your part before I take time out of my day to help you and discuss why picking Protoss is a cheap fucking bitch move that Asians are prone to doing online.

But my city world was built by a galactic crime syndicate.

I have never played that game, but the premise of it is fascinating to me.

Honest to God, I have sat on a game idea for years that simulated evolution, but the player cannot interact directly with species. They only have control of environmental variables as a crashed alien probe somewhere in the polar regions. Their goal is to evolve an intelligence species that can use tools and eventually build a technological civilization. They can build various technologies over time that allow them to fuck with the climate, geology, atmospheric composition, etc.

I mean.. maybe let them cull certain members of a species out to create artificial selection, and also possibly removing some individuals to create new populations elsewhere where genetic drift can do it's job.

Just not directly altering shit in the genome.

Sounds like that would be an awesome game. You should try to develop it. Fuck it man, set up a gofundme or kickstarter and see if you can get some interest. I'd play the shit out of that game.
