For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I'm still going to imagine your parents dragging you along to Woodstock at the age of 5 to get naked and covered in mud.

It was like that

In the VW van, my parents in the front smoking dope, with a bed set up for me to sleep in the back.

Drinking and driving, smoking dope and driving, no seatbelts. Stick shift. AM/FM radio.

We would go to rock festivals, I would get to stay up late, then sleep in the van.

We'd travel all over, going from camp site to camp site, camping out of the van.

Chopping wood, making fires, eating hotdogs and marshmallows under the stars, singing songs.

It was pretty fuckin' cool as I remember it. The Seventies, maan, good times.

Free Rein.

My folks were far too straight for that. They spent most of the 60's abroad. Singapore and Malta on postings with the military, Dad was a radar engineer.
We camped all over Europe in the 70s. Old VW fastback pulling a tiny trailer with the tent in it. Leaning Tower of Pisa, Koln Cathedral, Venice, St Tropez, Monte Carlo, Castles on the Rhine, that kind of thing.

They listened to James Last and Burt Bacharach.

Yeah, I'm welling up too.
This one sticks in my memory for some reason. We used to sing ''three wheels on my Volkswagen''
