Beaulieu for a conditional 3rd rounder? Terrible trade, just dump all your d-prospects eh Montreal? This time for a bag of pucks.

They are fuckin' retarded, Vegas is not taking Varlamov, they'd take Raanta from the Rangers, but if Pickard is exposed, that would be my second guy after Raanta if I'm Vegas, and then you're stuck with Varlamov? Yeesh.StCapps wrote:I know, but the Avs are an organization that is run by morons, and from what I've heard they think differently.Smitty-48 wrote:What?! Exposing Varlamov is a no brainer.

They are going to take Grubauer too. If I'm Vegas I load up on goalies and move them, but I'm not touching Varlamov with a 10 foot pole.Smitty-48 wrote:They are fuckin' retarded, Vegas is not taking Varlamov, they'd take Raanta from the Rangers, but if Pickard is exposed, that would be my second guy after Raanta if I'm Vegas, and then you're stuck with Varlamov? Wow, nice pick up for the Sabres, didn't cost them a roster player neither. Habs fans must be scratching their heads.StCapps wrote:Beaulieu for a conditional 3rd rounder? Terrible trade, just dump all your d-prospects eh Montreal? This time for a bag of pucks.

Darren Dreger tried to excuse the deal by saying the Canadiens must have another trade coming for Galchenyuk that will cover them just giving away Beaulieu, funny stuff.Smitty-48 wrote:Wow, nice pick up for the Sabres, didn't cost them a roster player neither. Still, I see no reason to just give Beaulieu away, he's not a superstar or anything, but he's a legit top 4, he's only 24, he's cheap, and he's 6'2" 205 lbs and can skate.StCapps wrote:Darren Dreger tried to excuse the deal by saying the Canadiens must have another trade coming.Smitty-48 wrote:Wow, nice pick up for the Sabres, didn't cost them a roster player neither. Times like this make me wish the Avs had a 2017 third rounder to trade, since that's all it took to get Beaulieu, we would have taken that in a heartbeat.Smitty-48 wrote:Still, I see no reason to just give Beaulieu away, he's not a superstar or anything, but he's a legit top 4.StCapps wrote:Darren Dreger tried to excuse the deal by saying the Canadiens must have another trade coming.Smitty-48 wrote:

I don't understand why Sakic couldn't make that deal, Beaulieu would be perfect for the Avs, that's exactly the kind of defensive depth that they need, not too old, not too expensive, not a superstar, but effective.
I would make that trade as the Leafs, but Montreal probably wouldn't do it, because they know it could come back to haunt them in Leaf Blue n' White.

Sakic is bad at his job, and in particular, he's way too cautious when it comes to pulling the trigger on a trade, that would explain it.Smitty-48 wrote:I don't understand why Sakic couldn't make that deal, Beaulieu would be perfect for the Avs, that's exaclty the kind of defensive depth that they need, not too old, not too expensive, not a superstar, but effective.

Yeah, he apparently feels like he has to hit a grand slam, or nothing, trying so hard to hit the long ball out of the park, "Matt Duchene for Connor McDavid", he ends up striking out with bases loaded.StCapps wrote:Sakic is bad at his job, and in particular, he's way too cautious when it comes to pulling the trigger on a trade, that would explain it.Smitty-48 wrote:I don't understand why Sakic couldn't make that deal, Beaulieu would be perfect for the Avs, that's exaclty the kind of defensive depth that they need, not too old, not too expensive, not a superstar, but effective.
