And now it’s time for Children’s Hour

So today, children, I’m going to have to tell you that quite a lot of what dear old Ms Snorkel, your science teacher, has been telling you about global warming turns out not to be true. Not true at all. Dear me, no.

You see, Miss Snorkel thinks that just because someone says something dreadful is going to happen, then it’s going to happen. Just like that.

But just because someone says they think something bad is going to happen, that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. It might not happen. So you mustn’t just believe it’s going to happen. You must check what you are told. Don’t just believe it.

This is the proper delivery.

Her band has to have an iconic Swedish Death Metal Band name, though.

The CoCD is getting off the fucking hook. Like, this is full on doomsday cult now, not unlike the shit that was going on in the year 999.

The difference between these cultists and respectable cultists like, say Heaven's Gate, is that respectable doomsday cults possessed the good sense to kill themselves. This doomsday is always 11 years out. It was only 11 years out 11 years ago and it will be 11 years out 11 years from now.

They are Climate Millerites. Every time the doomsday doesn't come on the date predicted, they simply got the date wrong and make another prediction of doom, lulz.

...and the world came together to ban CFCs and repair the hole.
It's a great example of what you can do on a global scale when you accept the scientific evidence and work together to find solutions.
Same with acid rain, Northern forests were dying at an alarming rate so governments got together and did something about it. Right-wing governments too, Thatcher and Reagan led the cause.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Sadistic Cults are the Hippest Cults

Greta Thunberg To Poor Countries: Drop Dead
Thunberg's blithe disregard for the benefits of economic growth is not uncommon for people from wealthy countries who are already living in an industrialized world built by the fossil fuels of yesteryear. For them, they associate additional economic growth with access to high fashion and luxury cars. But for the billions of human beings living outside these places, fossil-fuel-driven industrialization can be the difference between life and death.

Government action didn't solve those issues. It's a great example of you giving credit to something which deserves none of it.
