What you saw, and what I saw are 2 completely different things.C-Mag wrote:I saw that too. A lot of average folks have more sense than our so called 'Leaders'.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: I watched a good portion of the live stream from this event. I saw scuffles breaking out periodically, but I also saw people from both sides trying to break up the violence and condemn it. That is how you diffuse the situation.
Ol' Gavin McInnes promoted this event to increase his own public image by antagonizing Berkley leftists, and some reliably took the bait.
The other way to view it though is that two groups of people with wildly opposing world views gathered to publicly express their opinions, and we're able to with very little violence... relative to what we know humans are capable of.
I found it heartening at times to see free expression and self regulation... even if some people got a little rowdy.
We have got to have Zero Tolerance for leaders who call for more of this shit. Like Loretta Lynch basically saying we need more violence and blood in the streets, and an approved message by a major party
WTF

If you ever see me in a street riot, armed for battle, you'd better be running the other way. I won't be the first one out there, but I can assure you, I'd be one of the last.Speaker to Animals wrote:Yeah, we probably will have to settle this in battle. See you guys there. Well, in the case of GCF, he will have to post that he is there, because we probably won't be able to see him over the shoulders of the other antifa fags.

Blowing on horns is about right....GrumpyCatFace wrote:Take it back, untermensch. Lederhosen are for manly men, climbing mountains and blowing on 40-ft horns to give the time and sound alarm throughout the Fatherland.Montegriffo wrote:

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Would another good name for this thread be "The Decline 2.0"?
I think there's a couple of things happening here:
1) Now that the election is over everything seems less exciting in comparison. There's been some good thread's here, but I nothing as much fun as the epicness that was the Predicting the 2016 election thread on the DCF.
2) As has been mentioned, the left vs right war that was happening on the DCF is over and the right won. This leaves us with mostly a bunch of righties in Hashwerks, creating an echo-chamber without any good lefties to fight with. So unless a bunch of intelligent, articulate lefties ( ) sign on to Hashwerks and start stirring things up, the righties aren't going to have anything interesting to do...for a while. But just like any other time one side wins over another, the side that wins eventually splits up into factions, and the factions start fighting each other.
I'm optimistic about the future of Hashwerks. I think it's only a matter of time before we find some issue that we can all disagree on and fight over.
