Here's a challenge to DB or any of you others who like to scribble down stories in your Commodore64s or with your crayons.
Let's write stories about a dumpster-diving kid looking for books. Not food, not clothing; only books. Every other angle is wide open and free-fire.
Keep it under 7,500 words.
Those are the only two rules.
We would also have to determine what the prize will be.
What do you all say? I'm sure there are other rules I'm overlooking, copyright, &c., &c.

It looks like the sale is at Pin Oak Middle School from 9-4 on Saturday. They usually have different areas with different categories like fiction, biography, history, military science, travel etc.
It really is a great resource.

I had to do a double take because I thought that was a picture of my bookshelf. I don't have a bust of Socrates, but I do have a shitload of the books on that shelf. The wood is the same color and size also. Fucking weird.

Looking at it again, no. Socrates has a broader uglier face with a big nose. It could be Pericles, but honestly I can't tell.
