Seriously. Johansen is a 2C with an $8.5 million cap hit, Duchene is a 2C with an $8 million cap hit, Turris is a 2/3 C with a $6 million cap hit. That's a $22.5 million cap hit at center and they still don't have a legit 1C, ouch.

There are no 1C's on the UFA market, and there are no 1C's the Preds can get in a trade, so they settle for overpaying 2C UFA's by dumping cap space tied up in the defense and trading defensemen for overpaid 2C's who they mistakenly believe are secret 1C's. Only way to get a 1C would be to offer sheet a 1C RFA and pay through the nose to do it, but that's better than the other options. Problem is, they now already have over $22 million tied up in overpaid centers locked in for five years, so they don't have the cap space to do that now.

Would rather be underpaying my legit 2C at a $4.5 million cap hit for three years than overpay at a $16.5 million cap hit on 2 legit 2C's for the next six years and hope one of them turns into a 1C. That's a no brainer.

Avs have $10.8 cap hit tied up in their top two centers, and despite paying nearly $6 million a year less, they still have a better one-two punch down the middle than the Preds. You're just jealous Nashville, thanks for Sam Girard.

Arrgh, I was watching Konta at Wimbledon so missed the start.
2-0 already?

I'm going back to the tennis...

That first goal was a gift.
The second one was nice.
Great individual goal to claw one back.
A bit lucky with the VAR decision on the 2nd England goal.

Should be a good second half.

A bit of revenge after last year's loss to England in the QF of the men's world cup.
