I can sleep in mine in subzero temps outside just fine. You will stay plenty warm inside that inside the van.
If you know what you are looking for, you can find some great deals on ebay on high-end REI-type stuff from rich white-bread dummies who thought they were going to turn Grizzly Adams.
where's the stolen valor in that?
Damn it's hard to virtue-signal out in the middle of the damn woods with nobody around. Or in a closed-up van in the parking lot of the Walmart, for that matter.

I just want to sleep warm while waiting to get back to a warm place to shit.

8-) :goteam: :drunk:

and don't sleep in clothes in that. Keep them in the bag with you so they're warm when you put them on in the morning.
He'd be dying in there all bundled up in that heat. The gortex alone keeps your heat locked in there. The cool thing about it is that it's modular, so you can use it in most circumstances.

How are you gonna can anything with a jar you can't boil?

That's what I thought. It just shattered like Penner on election night.

Apparently banging them around can weaken them from what I read. everything gets banged up in this thing so I ended up with a hot water bottle. Apparently it's impossible to buy a steel bottle that isn't fucking insulated

One shattered on me like that.
How do you suppose food is canned?

EDIT: Actually, I get it. If you put it completely into boiling water, it would be fine. If you poured boiling water into it cold, the inside would be much hotter than the outside. That's probably why it shattered.

Okra is my favorite.

Also good: onions, jalapenos and all kinds of hot peppers, eggs, green beans
I used to do tons of tomatoes. I've done beef stew before, but I get gun shy around botulism.
We do tomatoes, applesauce, sauerkraut, jellies, syrups, and all kinds of pickled veggies. It's amazing what you can pack away over time.

This is what I have:

There's no way you are freezing in that thing in North America. It's fucking hot in there. You have to go in your boxers and a t-shirt. Trust me on that.

Why do you need a hot water bottle in a sleeping bag? Maybe upgrade your sleeping bag if it's not working for you, get yourself a Canadian Army down filled four seasons, I've slept outside in one, no shelter at all, in -30C, with both the inner and outer, it's no problemo.
