Dems think they're going to make big gains from election holidays.
They apparently believe that the majority of employed, hard-working, tax payers are Dems.
Yeah, that could turn out really bad over time. Just like far too many people don't understand why they get Memorial Day or Independence Day off. They just know it's time to head to the beach and party.
All the Seattle Area middle class folks dropping 5-figures on taxes every year (because cost of living is high out here) will be more than happy to skip a daily 3-hour commute to go vote.

But if you think they’re voting for Dems to raise their taxes and lie about fixing roads for the 15th year in a row, you’re probably going to be disappointed.

The crazy thing is, people will leave when shit implodes after years of Dem control. Why don't they stay, and vote the bastards out and fix their community?

Detroit, dude.
It’s not “the people”, it’s the employers.
If Amazon, Boeing, and Microsoft bail then “the people” can make the state red as fuck, won’t matter. No high paying jobs means statewide poverty, whether blue or red.

Dependence on the federal/corporatist system is what creates it. It is bolstered by a corrupt government education system.

I have been thinking about a concept regarding the ratio of large corporate jobs to small business ownership. I think you ideally want at least a third of a population in business for themselves. Possibly more.

Maybe add government employment and welfare recipient to the ratio.

Don't wait til the last minute and ruin another V-Day. Make the reservations today.

Waffle House offering romantic Valentine's Day date night

Close to 200 restaurants will be taking reservations and offering up a unique and fun night featuring white tablecloths, and welcoming couples for a special dinner service.

"Valentine's Day is about spending time with the one you love at a place you love," says Waffle House Valentine's Specialist Jessica Kinskey. "And it's even better when you can do that without spending a lot of money."

It occurs to me that, if you really wanted to announce your divorce papers to your wife in a way that would ensure maximal drama and lulz, you should tell her you are taking her out for a Valentine's Day meal, take her to Waffle House, and when she starts to complain about how fucked up that is, pull the papers out of your coat and enjoy the ride.

Or maybe I am the only one who plans breakups in advance to achieve maximal drama. I dunno.

You're not the only one, dude.

Trust me; I've had requests/demands that divorce papers/restraining orders/&c be served at Christmas dinner, at Thanksgiving dinner, Valentine's dinner with the new flame, during little league ballgames, during staff meetings at work, during Sunday School classes, at the airport just before vacation time, you name it.
