Dixie is Scots-Irish to the bone, "English Cavaliers" is nonsense, the English Cavaliers were Jacobites, supporters of the Catholic House of Stuart, you're out to lunch here.

America is a product of the Scottish Enlightenment, but that's not the Catholic Jacobites in the Highlands, that's Scots-Irish, Lowland and Ulster Orangemen. They weren't Celts, they were transplanted English for all intents and purposes, Anglo-Saxons.

America is the product of four different nations with completely different intents all coming to a shitty compromise.

Scots-Irish/Appalachians
Puritans/Yankees
Midlanders (Quakers)
Southrons (Cavaliers/Anglicans)

The Southrons are about as far away from Jacobites as you can get, "Southron Cavaliers" is silly nonsense.

A Cavalier is a Royalist Loyalist Tory who stands with the Roman Catholic Crown.

Until about 30 years ago, the four nations on the Eastern side of the nation divided up into two camps: Yankess/Midlanders against Southrons/Appalachians. The Far Westerners sided with Southrons and the Left Coast sided with the Yankees.

Now it's just urban versus rural, really, so things have changed.

Cavaliers were not Jacobites. They left before that uprising. Jacobites were Catholics as well, whereas Cavaliers were Anglicans for the most part.

Jacobites are the further adventures of the shit hole that is the British Isles, after we all settled here and carried on the Civil War in our own way.

Mountains = Scots-Irish = Appalachian.

Southrons subsumed Appalachians in a similar fashion to how Yankees subsumed the Midlanders.

Fact: StA is half Appalachian, half Southron

Southron side were fucking crazy South Carolinians. Anglicans.
Appalachian side were mostly Presbyterian and Baptist radicals.
