This is a great idea. I'm taking a break from MHF. I'll pop back in after a couple of weeks to see if things have been resolved. If not, then bye for a an even longer stretch, or even for good. This shit isn't even entertaining. Most children act more adult than this.Hastur wrote:Signal to noise ratio is getting to low here. Just sort it the fuck out. This will be my last post for now. I'll come back March 1 and see if the spamming is over. If it's still ongoing, sayonara! It's been fun.

So, you made a flame thread, targeting a moderator, and you're whining after it got removed? Really reaching for the heights now, aren't ya.StCapps wrote:It was mostly on-topic, about Kath allowing the forum to be overrun by spam because our hockey talk, then she deleted several pages worth of multiple posters posts, probably because she didn't like how bad she came off in that thread. Even if we did spam it, how would that be grounds for deleting an entire thread?Montegriffo wrote:I was probably in bed and I missed it.StCapps wrote:We all saw her delete an entire thread last night (spam = allowed), you aren't paying attention,
Which thread was deleted?
How many off topic posts did it have in it? Were you deliberately trying to derail the conversation again?

Why not let the OP decide if off-topic posts are okay (upfront)?

Create a new thread that proposes a single rule:
OP decides if off-topic posts are okay.
YES
NO
OP decides if off-topic posts are okay.

Just beware that a consequence of this is thread duplication. The era of consolidated mega threads could be over.

What is OP supposed to do if their threads go off topic? Should we give moderating powers to OP in their own threads?
Bah, this whole problem would go away if A) hockey talk stayed in hockey threads and B) the moderator stopped egging them on

I imagine that would lead to a proliferation of threads.pineapplemike wrote:What is OP supposed to do if their threads go off topic? Should we give moderating powers to OP in their own threads?
