Good riddance. It can't come fast enough.

The one act that defined President Barack Obama

Despite your personal feelings on his coolness, his character, his charisma, or his competence, Barack Obama will forever be the president who worked diligently to put the gun of government to the heads of the Little Sisters of the Poor, demanding that they either pay to destroy children in the womb or be crushed.

IIRC - they were asked to sign a piece of paper indicating they would not do that. That was the big controversy. I'm not getting into it again; just clarifying what the whole gun-to-the-head was over.

IIRC - 2nd century Christians were asked to toss some animals into the fire for a sacrifice to Ceasar. That was the big controversy. I'm not getting into it again; just clarifying what the whole gladius-to-the-head was over.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

We already have more children who need parents than people who want to adopt. Why flood the system with even more unwanted children?
There are 107,918 foster children eligible for and waiting to be adopted. In 2014, 50,644 foster kids were adopted — a number that has stayed roughly consistent for the past five years. The average age of a waiting child is 7.7 years old and 29% of them will spend at least three years in foster care.Dec 8, 2015

It's not that simple. There are not enough babies and toddlers for every family who wants to adopt. There are plenty of older children with a lot of baggage that nobody wants to adopt.

You can't look at it like demand for a newborn is the same as demand for a a thirteen year old who was born with fetal alcohol syndrome.

I agree it's not that simple, but this is a problem for me. We have so many children who need love, guidance, support, etc. It breaks my heart.

That said, I do wish more women would opt for adoption. Abortion is a horrible choice, but it is the mother's choice.
