Always time to try and change that. I'm certainly going to this year. One way or another.

Fishing looks awesome.

Hunting too...

On the list of hobbies I would like to have.

Going to the rock climbing gym today with my daughter.

The boy isn't into it yet.

He is a hard core birder... he's going out with his bird club. (Not my thing, but it's his bona fide passion, god bless the kid.)

When duck season is over, I'll be looking forward to a couple of trips down to Shiloh in February. In the winter, fishing is about the skillet for me. Sauger is second to none.

I'd assume Sauger tastes similar to Walleye? Had Walleye before (shame we really don't have a spot for 'em here in MA, other than the Connecticut), wasn't bad. Prefer saltwater edible fish, but that's more 'cause my old man raised me on fishing in the surf first, boat an occasional second.

Can't beat fresh, though. Tastes better when caught by your own hand IMO.

Watching that video is already starting the cabin fever (and it's only January) :sad-fever:

Sauger and Walleye are very, very close cousins. Just the coloring is a bit different, and Sauger run smaller. I think Sauger is more tasty, but Walleye has been very good when I've had it also.

They look good. I think the models are more impressive before they're put together.

Makes it easier to spot and target them.
