That's the problem that needs to be addressed. I think we just need places where regular (good) games are played all the time.

EA voluntarily dropped their loot crate prices by 75%, and then nearly dropped them completely, right before release.Kath wrote:OMG! The Conservative made some progress on his petition!!Zero wrote:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gaming/news/ ... deo-games/

Impossible to say whether this was from the backlash, or a planned maneuver. But the game isn't doing that well anyway in the reviews.

I half thought I was about to see TC's actual petition get mentioned on the news.
What a let down.
What a let down.

https://screenrant.com/ea-stock-star-wa ... -backlash/
Considering that thousands, if not millions, of people were criticizing the video game publisher for its predatory tactics, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger reportedly stepped in to make sure EA got things back on track. A few hours after both company’s heads spoke, EA backtracked their “pride and accomplishment” stance and temporarily rolled back Battlefront II‘s microtransactions, though they’re leaving the door open to re-implement the feature later down the line when the heat dies down. As it turns out, in addition to making Disney happy (since they hold the Star Wars IP), EA has another reason for appeasing consumers.

Investors of EA are starting to look hard as well...

Seems to me the gamers are fighting back, and rightfully so.Video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) is set to launch its big holiday game, Battlefront II, in a few days. That launch has been looked at by many as the catalyst which will spring EA stock out of the sideways trading pattern which has dominated the stock since June. Battlefront II was the reason to buy EA stock this holiday season.
That isn’t the case anymore.

At this point, it's like trying to snatch the moral panic spotlight away from women. Good luck with the alt-moral panic in video games, I guess..

It appears the fight against loot boxes in video games is gaining serious momentum. First, Belgium officially declared loot boxes as a form of gambling. Now, the state of Hawaii is taking steps to fight the “predatory practices” of companies like EA.
