Go get the information from dying sea captains, like everybody else.
Always do, or at port. The point is the book and map were always required when playing originally.
They were never required. I think the book for the original version had some kind of optional codes, and that’s it.

Sure, maps to go with the D/L?
Eh? Oh, maps of the Caribbean? Some of us don’t need them.

They were when you were playing the version that played on the C64/PC/Mac at the time.

Really old school and I remember that there would've been a new version that came out every so often:

Descent: Underground

Looks like they are resurrecting the Descent series... my first gut instinct is cautiously happy... I loved this game growing up. I hope this game doesn't destroy those memories by trying to be too "modern" and not forget what made the game what it was...

Again, by SwA standards this is a Ponzi scheme, but hey...

Take-Two now calling for micro-transactions IN ALL FUTURE GAMES. Apparently, the $60 is now just an entry fee to shop for digital Nothings.

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/1 ... nt-2536385
The endless quest for more American dollars continues without respite or clemency at Take Two Interactive, daddy of Rockstar and uber-publisher of Grand Theft Auto V. They want to put “recurrent consumer spending” in all their future games, said CEO Strauss Zelnick in a recent conference call for investors. “Recurrent consumer spending” is how men in suits say “microtransactions”, which is how men in slightly shabbier suits say: “we’re putting a shop in your videogame”.
