Re: One Hit Wonders
There’s our Brooksville, Fl roller rink. When I moved to Florida at age 12 it was the first summer camp trip we took on a school bus. I left my skateboard on the bus because they (obviously) weren’t allowed inside. Later, when we were heading home, the bus rolled over something in the parking lot causing the driver to get out and investigate.
Yep.
The “new kid’s” skateboard had been shoved under the bus tire as a Welcome to Florida gift. It was crushed.
Florida.

Speaker on his way to the roller rink.
The game I remember best was a form of tag. When the chaser caught someone they would then hold hands and continue chasing. It ended up with a human chain about 40 strong chasing the last few skaters. Happy days.
I went to the rink in Norwich when I was in my 30s and was pleased to find I could still skate at a reasonable speed without breaking my neck...

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Back to one hit wonders, still a strong favourite.

Also Jim Morrison. Maybe he didn't live long enough to become a serial killer, or perhaps he just was never caught.
When I was growing up, the house his parents live in while his dad was stationed at Banana River Naval Air Station (now Patrick AFB) was abandoned and people had allegedly painted some pretty cool murals on the walls. Never went in there, though, even though I was a pretty big fan since I was rather young.
