Well I would have rather traded Duchene and paid O'Reilly the six million, but that's not how it worked out. We still haven't traded Duchene yet and O'Reilly wasn't going to take $6 million, our hand was forced. Also we thought Duchene was going to be better than he's turned out to be thus far, outscoring Duchene is not some big accomplishment considering how terrible the Avs have been as of late, I mean Ryan O'Reilly is on the top line playing with Eichel, Duchene is a second line center playing with no one near as good as Eichel.

Whatevs, you got your $1.5 million back; spending it on a Mikhail Girgorenko Bust; the new Yakupov, whoopee.

Compher and Zadorov are the non-busts of the trade. Of course you would focus on the one bust we got in the three, makes your argument sound better than it actually is.

Those two are complimentary pieces; dime a dozen, the Sabres dumped their bust on you, and got back one of the best players in the league, whose market rate was $6-7 million, so Sakic basically traded away the heart and soul of the team, for a bucket o' pucks, over a measely $500K.

I mean, shit, Compfer and Zaboril? The Leafs would have traded Phill Kessel for Ryan O'Rielly...

You overrate O'Reilly because you like the way he plays. One of the best players in the league, nah, he's not even that high up on the best wingers in the league list, but he sure is getting paid like he is a top 5 winger in the NHL, when he's not that good. If Buffalo want to overpay him, that's on them, I'm glad we traded him and got something back, instead of not be able to resign him and getting nothing for him, which is what would have happened if we hadn't traded him.

But go ahead shit on Sakic for moving O'Reilly when the only actual alternative was letting Buffalo or some other team overpay for him in a year when he was a free agent, without giving up squat. We wouldn't have gotten any complimentary pieces, or even a bag of pucks, but sure that was the way to go.

He's an elite two way player, heart and soul mensch, and he puts up more points than either of your $6 million wingers; Duchene and Landeskog, enjoy that Zaboril though, 2nd pairing D-man; whoopee.

O'Reilly plays with Eichel. Duchene and Landeskog don't play with MacKinnon, except on the powerplay, and our powerplay is terrible. O'Reilly is better than Landeskog, sure, but Landeskog is $2 million cheaper and they are both similar players.

Because O'Rielly is so good, he's on the top unit with the Franchise, whereas Duchene and Landeskog suck so hard, they can't even play with MacKinnon. Great trade! Whoopee!

$13.5 million for Duchene and Landeskog, and Buffalo wouldn't trade you O'Rielly back, if you offered both of them in return, "but we saved $1.5 million, whoopeeeee!"

Duchene can't play with him because we'd have to move one of them to the wing. We could play Landeskog with him, but Rantanen is the better offensive talent moving forward and if we do then Duchene would less talent to work with. Quit trolling.

Thankfully though we'll be rid of Duchene soon enough and can hopefully start to build a defense that doesn't completely suck.

Duchene can't play with him because why put two centers on one line? We could play Landeskog with him, but Rantanen is the better offensive talent and we need someone to play with Duchene. Quit trolling.
William Nylander is a center, but we're perfectly happy to put him on Matthew's wing...

... second line center? Tyler Bozak > Matt Duchene, I mean, since you're so into saving cap room, "$1.5 million in the bank, baby, whoopee!"
