I can almost forget that most of that demo is adapted from the 3D engine they licensed and all they did was add their models to it. But other than that, yeah, any day now we are going to have the real thing. It's going to be the best game ever. You're going to love it.
What engine would that be?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Lumberyard

Most of the code in the demos you are playing were written by Amazon developers to release this engine. It's a free, open-source engine too. Not one of the good ones. You'd think with a 150 million dollars, they'd have gone with something good.
Wrong. I don't know why you want to keep showing everyone you're just talking out your ass.
How much of a transition process was involved in moving from the original engine to Lumberyard?

Carl Jones: We found it very easy to transition as our engine and Lumberyard share a similar base in CryEngine. We made extensive changes in our engine from the ‘vanilla’ CryEngine, as had Amazon with Lumberyard, so for us the approach was to strip each engine down to their matching parts – then add our changes back again to the common core. Essentially this was the work of only a few days, so it was a very easy transition indeed.

How much of an overlap was there between Lumberyard and the changes you had already made to the version of CryEngine you were working with?

Both engines have advanced well beyond the original CryEngine base, but they have moved in different directions and will continue to do so. While this means we can’t benefit automatically from all the changes Amazon makes to Lumberyard by simply merging code, that’s really not a problem for us. Amazon has sensibly architected Lumberyard to be as modular as possible, which means we don’t have to make any wholesale changes to our technology, yet we can look at improvements Amazon makes on a case by case basis, and take advantage of them if we feel it works with our games.

You don't understand how a software project works. A 3D engine is a huge amount of code that usually covers even the physics model. With a good engine, you ar3 just adapting it to your game mechanics and to load your models and other assets.

The vast amount of work they seem to have done is art-related content. They spend a lot more time in 3D modeling environments building pixel spaceships to sell than they do actually coding this fucking game.

Where I am positive they sabotaged development was in suddenly changing this to an MMO. That makes no sense. The network layer for an MMO and all the server-side development are absolutely fucking massive. You just don't decide at the last minute to add MMO.

A solid MMO that supports tens of thousands or more players at a time in a persistent universe is not just a simple game. You have to solve network and traffic management problems on par with a wireless network. It's a big fucking deal. To suggest you can just throw some MMO into the game at the last minute, like candy, suggests to me they have not been serious about finishing the project for some time.

and you're just talking out your ass about something you read on wikipedia.

Crytek and Amazon both acknowledge that StarEngine is almost completely proprietary to CIG.

Crytek and Amazon both acknowledge that CryEngine never had robust networking tools, so CIG and Amazon each built their own versions.

CIG and Amazon both acknowledge that Amazon's AWS network, and their ongoing development of Lumberyard as a network focused engine, are the only elements they are both using.

And now that it should be crystal clear to anyone reading that you don't know what the hell you're talking about with,
all they did was add their models to it
Let's step back a minute and get an explanation from Speaker on when exactly Jeff fucking Bezos is gonna be joining Chris Roberts in jail over this scam of theirs.

Because that's what we know about Amazon and Crytek, basically african call centers, amiright?

I am a software engineer with a master's degree under my belt, dude.

No fucking way they just add "MMO" at the last minute. You're getting snowed. In some ways, the network layer of a large MMO is a lot like the traffic flow and load balancing issues on a wireless gateway. I do have a pretty good idea about what this means to the project. You can't just add MMO at the last minute.

no one added MMO at the last minute.

there was never something else on which to add MMO.

you can't get the timeline right, despite being corrected.

you can't keep your story straight more than three posts in a row.

first it's a scam, then just too ambitious, then back to being a scam

first S42 is a sequel, then a prequel, then a sequel with an MMO layer added in later.

    v0.7.3
    Released June 24th, 2011

    Initial Release[2]
    Notable Features
    Downloaded over 5000 times[3]
No SAS, although SAS module is implemented and generates torque
The only engine, the LV-T30 can only be fed by one FL-T500 attached on its top
The AV-R8 Winglet is just a fin and can't be used to control the vehicle
It is nearly impossible to achieve orbit
Kerbin is the only celestial object, does not rotate, and is a mirror reflection of the example planet from libnoise
The sun is a directional light source at infinite distance
The render distance is only 1500 km, and Kerbin will "sink" into the sky background, vanishing entirely as that altitude is achieved
The original Intercontinental Kraken had not been fixed (Moving far from the KSC will result in shaking and even Rapid Unplanned Disassembly.)
I'm guessing both of you bought into the KSP early access alpha demo/scam before I did.
