Keep not watching the last two seasons of The Leftovers, it will be the worst TV watching decision you ever make, in all likelihood. My brother didn't like the first season either and I had to pretty much force him to watch Season 2, and then he didn't even enjoy the second season nearly as much as he should have, but by Season 3 he was like "fuck, when did this show get so damn good? this shit is amazing!"

Meh. I don't watch much tv anymore, anyway. 90% of the time, not worth my time.

The first season was well written and one of the best shows on TV that year too, but some people thought it was too dark and couldn't take the emotional gut punches it was dishing out. Basically you stopped watching because you're a pussy, but it gets much lighter, and by the third season even the biggest emotional gut punch pussy should have no problem rocking to it, because that shit is much better balanced with levity.

Also the show never had an audience, it's a miracle they weren't cancelled given the ratings, but ratings are not indicative of quality, eg. The Wire.

There were no gut punches. I had no connection to any of "The Missing", beyond some empty chairs, and depressed people staring at fucking walls for 10 hours. There was no reason to care about any of it.

There was a huge government investigation, there was rioting, and in the later seasons there is a lot of interesting political fallout on top of all that. It does have a point to it, a point that might be too subtle for your feeble mind to grasp, but thematically speaking, the show has a very strong sense of itself.

They got to the point right off the bat, they just get better at illustrating that point as the show goes on, much better. You're a retard for thinking the show is about the people who were sudden departures as opposed to the people they left behind and how they are dealing with it, given the respective screen time they spent on both. That's an epic level of dumb right there.
