Was good stuff. Started real hot with that killer pilot but the ending wasn't awesome and they rushed some plot developments, like the stuff that went down between Naz and Chandra, they needed more character development to sell that better. Still can't help but wonder what could have been if it was James Gandolfini playing John Stone instead of John Turturro.Martin Hash wrote:I just binge-watched "The Night Of..."

Started reading a biography of Jan Sobieski. Been watching this film again. It's okay if you can get used to the actor playing Kara Mustafa being an Italian that kind of looks like El Guapo from Three Amigos.
Would be absolutely amazing to go back in time to see the Hussars charge into the Turkish flank with old Sobieski leading the charge.

We need to start talking about The Handmaid's Tale.
Has anyone else seen it yet?
It's pretty much the blueprint for what the SJWs and the ANTIFA believe will happen if they loose. Scary stuff.
This is cryptonite strength propaganda, folks. You need to see this.

From what I know of the novel, the supreme irony of it is that it's an inverse, albeit exaggerated, depiction of what we already have today.
One of the strangest things about feminist literature to me is how it often depicts more accurately what men face, only with the genders swapped. For instance, Kill Bill better describes the plight of alienated fathers. Bill is more like the toxic woman who files for divorce, makes all sorts of nasty claims, demands full custody, essentially kills the father's life, and absconds with his children. Then she sends boyfriends and other members of the community to persecute the father.
Then look at Handmaid's Tale.. We already live in a society where one of the sexes has no reproductive rights whatsoever, where members of that sex can even be raped and still held responsible for the children that rape produces. But that sex is men, not women.
Florence Nightingale once wrote in a letter that she believed women really lacked sympathy to any great degree. I think feminism works by capitalizing upon that lack of compassion and sympathy that women suffer from and worsens it. Most of them are utterly blind to the fact that the things they worry about are exactly what they are doing right now to men.
