I just came across a hedgehog at the farm. Not a particularly spectacular animal but increasingly rare. The population is estimated to have fallen from 30 million in the 1950's to under a million today. It was a youngster born this year which implies there is a breeding pair nearby. Made my day as I've not seen one for at least a couple of years.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

No I spoke to him in a soft voice, observed him for a few seconds then walked away and left him to it.

Are those descended from the tame hedgehogs the Romans brought to the island. He was pretty cute.

I always thought they were just rats with punk rocker haircuts.
