I finally watched Deadwood this summer. Absolutely loved it.
Rome is still the best show of all time though.

It's pretty good, but it's not even in my top 20. Deadwood is top 5.California wrote:Rome is still the best show of all time though.

Season 1 yes. Season 2...it was rushed. Originally it was supposed to be a six season series covering the span of Caesar's rise to power through the death of Jesus. It's a damn shame that show was killed off due to production costs.California wrote:I finally watched Deadwood this summer. Absolutely loved it.

For fuck sake, 1984 is NOT an instruction manual!

Yeah Season 2 was so rushed they had to switch actors for Augustus mid season, that shit was hilarious, the two actors didn't even look anything alike.SilverEagle wrote:Season 1 yes. Liked them both but deadwood better. As for ancient Rome, Spartacus series is the bomb.California wrote:I finally watched Deadwood this summer. Absolutely loved it.

Re: What show are you watching right now?
The time line is confusing Season 1 is the regular show, season 2 is a prequel before the events of season 1. Season 3 and 4 are continuations of season 1. The lead actor that played Spartacus after season 1 got sick with cancer, while he was being treated they went with season 2 to hold out for him. Unfortunately he just couldn't do it and blessed a replacement, during production of season 3 he passed away.
