You can even eat in VR, so that's where you pig out on desert, fuck your boss, get high, whatever.

Some people become so addicted they stop taking care of themselves and die of self neglect, VR junkies.

The whole economy is in VR, only the Pentagon spends more on A.I.

The Space Colonists on the other hand, are leaving this decadent Earth behind.

The Space Colonists are arch conservatives.

They believe in love and marriage and making babies the old fashioned way

To propagate both the species, but also their idealistic values to the stars.

Out at the Space Colonies beyond Mars, there are only militarized Intranets, not connected to the V-net.

The Colonists and Space Forces have VR, but they generally use it for more serious business,

Not totally, it's not like they are banned from playing in VR, but it's mostly teenagers doing that.
