I suspect we’ll get the results in 2023 or early 2024.
Another reason I never could get with D&D, took so long to do anything, I usually got bored and wandered off, the intricacies were lost on me, and it just seemed like they made shit up as they went, but made it blindingly tedious in the process, by never just cutting to the chase. Took them hours and hours to get through the smallest details, and by the time they did, I didn't even care what the result was anymore, too boring for me.

This is how it always went, when the D&Ders got into all the dice rolling and looking things up in books, I just tuned out and went back to watching hockey on tv.

Yeah, it takes a skilled DM to cut down on boring shit, by ignoring the rules when they need to and creating house rules that are more efficient to expedite the process, etc. Even then it's still the biggest drawback to the game, especially at higher levels were you need to add up a shit ton of dice to determine wtf happened.

Also they are playing at Copps, damn I could be watching Makar in person, Capps be snoozing. Pre-tourny game, probably didn't cost that much.

The pirate ship is already sunk. The only discussion now is whether the band of pirates can survive the cold water and the sharks.

Looked like it might be fun, because they had all these lead figures on a board board and some dice, like it was a war game, so I thought it would be action packed, but when it took an hour to get back around to me, for one move, that's where I went to the couch to watch tv, "let me know when it's my turn again".

One of the big goals when it came to developing 5th edition was helping DMs to streamline the process and speed up the pace of the action in combat, they are aware of the problem but there is only so much they can really do, a skilled DM is still required to really speed shit up, and even then it's not always possible. Good DMs are hard to come by though, that's the problem.

5th edition is pretty cool. I played a few games of it. Played a warlock.

I think the mechanics are still whacked, though.

Warlocks seem really fun, always wanted to give one a shot, especially the Constitution based specialist variety, high hit point magic user, what's not to like?

Went more for dexterity-based with that magical sword ability. Hard to hit.

I like that build too, but a magic user that has a high constitution modifier that they base much of their powers on, just seems so cool, and makes them unique among the magic using classes. Warlocks are the kings of DoT, another aspect of theirs that makes them fun to play. I'd like to give both Dexterity and Constitution heavy Warlocks a run through, those are some fun character builds.

In hindsight, I would rather have gone the elf route with that fae god domain of spells and abilities. Add in the dexterity with the elven dexterity bonus to boot.
