edit; whoa, 9-1 now, and there's still 15 minutes left in this game, plenty of time for CHI to score 10.

edit; 10-1 now, happy birthday, Mario.
True dominance must be re-established. The children have had their fun.
Meh, the Pens hung their Cup banner just the night before, pretty sure that was a "we just partied all night" game for them, although, the Hawks do look good, and no doubt they've got a bee up their bonnet now, after getting swept so embarassingly in the spring. I'm expecting a rebound season from the Hawks, they gotta make a statement after that debacle.

Fucking Sakic! Now the Leafs get Pickard? Can any more salt get rubbed in the wound?

No shade on C-Mac, I like C-Mac, but Calvin Pickard?

Oh yeah, baby! He was my first choice for back-up goalie, Team Canada starter, at only a million a year!

I would've traded more than Lindberg and a 6th to get him, Lindberg and a 6th for Pickard is a steal!

Yup plenty more salt for the wound where that came from.

The Avs incompetence is the Leafs gain. At least Varly No-Groin had a pretty good game last night, but we should have protected Pickard.

Pickard is the best million dollar goalie available, that's the thing, you can't spend more than that on your back up, so that's why Pickard was my first choice, perfect option, and he can go right to the Marlies cause he has already cleared waivers.

That's why it was worth trading for him, because if you just take him on waivers, you have to keep him up, which is why he cleared, but the Leafs want him to be the 3, so they trade Lindberg whose never going to make the team, and a 6th, which is nothing, so Pickard can be in the A to start off with, and never mind the Marlies just got big upgrade in the deal in the meantime.

So the depth in goal is awesome now, C-Mac is perfect to sit on the bench as the 2, Pickard can get games with the Marlies as the 3, and if Freddie goes down, the season is not derailed, Pickard can be called up without having to clear wavers, injury call up, and the Leafs still have servicable goaltending until Freddie comes back.

Loaded up, every slot is covered off, with healthy internal competition, depth at all positions. The window is open, go for it Shannylou, the future is now.

Man do I ever hate home openers, whoever the home team is, usually plays like idiots, they over press, they push too hard, with no patience, and they get burned by the counter play in their own zone, now the Leafs are doing exactly what Winnipeg did, home openers make you play like retards.

The patience on Hyman though, very nice. The Rangers look like shit to start the year, they couldn't even beat the Avs and the Devils just pasted us 4-1, so it's not like it's difficult.

Well, luckily the Rangers are busting the zone just as recklessly as the Leafs are right now, and playing the same dog park defence, so it's even steven in terms of playing like retards at the moment, but if this wasn't a team as bad as the Rangers, the Leafs would be down 3-0 right now.

Just a fuckin' track meet right now, neither team is playing any defence, it's just trading chances, which, the Leafs might win that way, but if they keep this up, they're going to have to win 8-7.

Just have to get out of this period without getting lit up, so Babcock can get a chance to yell at them.
