I was born east coast time. I turned thirty a half hour ago.

Damn you're old as shit, dude. Do you feel OK? I saw somewhere that we are supposed to help old people with their helicopter rides and other stuff like that.

My 6th grade history teacher, Mrs. Turnipseed, no shit, told us people her age, in olden times, would be led out into the wilderness and left to die. That was after she asked what we thought would happen to old folks. We said they'd be killed.

She said, "No no. They'd just take me out into the woods and leave me to die naturally."

Here's to Mrs. Turnipseed.

Side note, I hit the point years ago where some chick I'd banged was dead. New point. Some teacher I'd thought about banging is probably dead. Fucking relentless march of time. I'm practically dead too. Time to go off into the desert, and let nature run its course.

My grandmother said her grandmother's tribe said they knew when they were about to die and wandered off on their own. Apparently if a close loved one died they were known to just sit down and die from grief themselves. Thinking on it now, they probably just froze to death iono.

Sometimes I wonder if that's what all the silver alerts blowing up my phone are about. Old people instinctually wandering off to die and not be a burden. Wether they are completely cognizant of it or not.

Before my great grandmother passed, she said she was ready to go. We didn't like hearing it, but she said she felt like she'd been here long enough. She said she was ready for the Lord to take her in.
That old devil, gotta say he's on the job
Tryin to steal. Tryin to kill and to rob.
But I won't worry, cause I know who's in control.
The one who made me is the one who owns my soul.

Take me in your arms when the storms of life are raging
Shield me in you care when I feel I can't go on.
Brace me from the storm when the winds of life are blowing
When you feel I've had enough, take me home to be with you.

Now go ahead and try to say he's dead and gone
Try to tell me that I'm out here on my own.
But please do tell me, if what you say is so,
Then what's this feeling that I feel down in my soul

Take me in your arms when the storms of life are raging
Shield me in you care when I feel I can't go on.
Brace me from the storm when the winds of life are blowing
When you feel I've had enough, take me home to be with you.
I'm working on the upload.
