Yeah, but England is even more communist than Canada is, so if I'm going to escape to a sun belt, it's going to be Nevada.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 3:49 pm18 degrees centigrade here today, forecast to last for a week.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 3:42 pmIt's the shitty part of winter, and this one is a fuckin shitty one, even winter sports are a bust, cause it's been one ice storm after the next, so other than walking the dogs, I'm just hanging out by the fire, hence I'm not here to fight, I'm just here to party.
Hottest St Valentines day for 30 years.
Was in a t-shirt all day.
Winter is over.
This time last year was the ''Beast from the East''. Roads blocked by 6' snow drifts.
Smitty's last post was Feb 25th, should we put his face on a milk carton?

If I want that sort of heat I'd move to Portugal.
Portugal is cheap as fuck but it catches fire (literally) every summer.
Halfway down France is where I'm retiring to.
Great food, cheap booze, good quality Morrocan hash.
What more do you need?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

So are machine guns.
And there's no state tax.
And sales tax is 5.5%.
And real estate is cheap.
I can come back to Canada in the summer, after wintering in Liberty City.

France has better castles.
This beauty is on the way to the shops.
Elanor of Aquitane's father's castle is 5 miles away.

My property is not protected in Europe, all of Europe is an even more confiscatory state than Canada is.

The Canadian constitution is actually the second best constitution in the world, it's just a very distant second.

Plus my wife hates, hates, hates Europe, except for Germany, which, nice to visit the autobahn, but otherwise, no thanks, lived there before, too rainy.

Don't get no green and pleasant land without a little precipitation.
Deserts are for Arabs.

Plus even Germany is filling up with hordes of close pressing swarthy oily men, and that is what my wife hates about Europe.

I love the desert. Florida also has excellent law, but I don't invest in property, which is in hurricane alley.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 4:49 pmDon't get no green and pleasant land without a little precipitation.

Nevada is moderate, not much storm activity at all, not much volcanic activity neither.
If I need the ocean, my ancestral home in California is just down the highway, nice place to visit but wouldn't pay the taxes there.
