Do icings not count during a power play?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Winnipeg loses focus and coughs up a three on one, the third Leaf scores.

That was a lucky break, 2-2

You can ice the puck when you are on the penalty kill, icing still counts for the team on the powerplay tho.

I thought I saw it happen.
This is a fun game to watch. High pace, lots of turnovers, a high goal to shots ratio.

Neither team is playing well, both are playing sloppy, turning the puck over constantly.

It's the mid season blahs. The regular season is a grind.

Justin Holl pinches like he thinks he's Bobby Orr, gets caught, 3 on 1 going the other way

3-2

These teams are mirror images of each other, both bad in terms of puck management

I'm still getting my head around the rules. One thing that I've been wondering about is when the goalie catches the puck in hand most of the time it goes to a face-off but I'm sure I've seen the keeper catch and then make a quick hand pass with no break in play.

The goalie has a window where he can play the puck before the ref blows the whistle

Much of the game relies on the intuition of the referees.

They give the goalie a moment to make a play, if he doesn't, they blow the play dead for a face off.

When the referee blows the play dead too quickly, we call that a "quick whistle"

Maybe there was a play there and the referee should have let them play on, but he didn't; "quick whistle"

I've only seen it a couple of times in previous games but I wondered if it was something like that.
Am I right in thinking that players can catch a high puck and drop it on the ice to themselves but not pass it to another player?
