We had to give you a chance to succeed on your own, you just weren't able to do it.

But since then you've been a pretty great client state. Your always willing to fill our troop levies, even if it's just with auxillaries, Cannucks, Kiwis, Gurkhas, whatever we need. So, just keep sending the canon fodder. You need Her Majesty to order the military to tighten up on standards and training. A lot of your auxillaries aren't very good, and hence we can only use them in minor roles. Really not up to snuff as first line Professional Soldiers. Except the Gurkhas.

Hitler had a number of fuck ups that prevented Operation Sea Lion from ever getting off the ground.
1. The German Generals had no real plan to entrap the British Army for follow on operations.
a. They just kept pushing ahead and by the time they had the BEF trapped at Dunkirk their troops were spent, rung out on the Anphetmines they had been taking on the push to the coast.
b. The BEF fucked up too. Had they counter attacked at Dunkirk they may have changed the entire war. There was a British Armored Battalion that did counter attack, fucked up the Krauts, had 'em runnin, but the BEF didn't commit enough troops to the attack to make a difference.
2. The Battle of Britain turned when the Krauts switched to bombing civilian targets. They still had a solid chance if they would have stuck to knocking out the RAF.
3. The entire idea of Sea Lion was probably tenable, but IMO it would have been a disaster.

That channel certainly serves as a defensive barrier, but not a great one. I think they Germans could have taken them in the long run. Attacking London instead of primary targets was a mistake. Germans also didn't focus on achieving air dominance.

To get across the channel you need air and sea dominance over the area. Once you have those two, it's just a thing. Load the men up on the boats, land, establish a landing zone for main forces. I.e. Operation Overlord in reverse.
