Well, I lift weights. 30 lbs for anything larger than abdominal crunches maybe is for children. Plus the movement was ballistic. It's not very different from kettlebell training, and a 25-35 lbs kettlebell is literally the standard weight for women. I am sure you can swing a 35 lbs kettlebell no problem.
