Not lulz. This actually goes back to my long-standing criticism of scientists in general having hijacked the American space program from the American people in order to conduct science experiments. Science is great. Don't get me wrong, but these people have no business actually running the fucking space program. They only care about their papers and research projects, and actual space exploration (i.e. colonization) is a threat to their budgets. So they constantly signal against actual space exploration. I loathe them for that.

The space program ought to be run by engineers. Full stop. Musk is crazy in his own right, but he just launched a heavy rocket for the first time in generations, and he put an object the size of a car in the Earth-Mars transit. That's a huge threat to planetary scientists and astronomers because the American people will look at this and wonder what they fuck those scientists did with all their money all this time.

Science is awesome.

Scientists have no business running a space program, however.
