If I was Sakic, I would pass on Valardi and take Liljegren, he had an off year, so he's fallen in the rankings, but at one point he was projected top three, could be the steal of the draft at #8, if he even drops that far. Cale Makar is ranked higher, but Makar is just Tyson Barrie 2.0; if you want a Tyson Barrie, you already have him.

Had no problem with the hit at all, the slash should have been called, but that's only two minutes. It's not my fault that Crosby can't take a hit without getting a concussion. Nothing wrong with what Niskanen did, he hit a dude who was crashing into him off balance at high speed, big whoop. That's a fucking good hit where I come from, skill players don't have a free pass to never getting hit, especially in the playoffs. I don't think you could knock OV out with that, I'll fault him for not scoring, but I can't say he's not hard, he's built like a truck, he takes the pain, look at the hit by Kadri, hyperextended his knee, I thought he was done, but there he was, right back at it in the second period, shook that off and kept on rolling.

This is why I prefer Matthews to McDavid, McDavid is reckless, and he's built like a bird, he's going to get hurt all the time, Matthews is 6'3" and gonna be 225lbs when he fills out, and when he goes to the dirty areas, he smart about it, he doesn't just fly around recklessly, he's aware of checks coming, but he establishes defensive positioning against it, he doesn't score as many highlight reel goals as McDavid, Matthews goes for the greasy goals, but I'm fine with that, better a greasy goal scorer on the ice, than a highlight reel scorer in the concussion ward.

It defiinitely looks "accidental intentional" to me, they clearly went gloves off against Crosby when he went to the net, OV high sticking him around the head, then Niskanen really follows through with the crosscheck when Crosby is sliding towards him, but the initial stick by OV is hardly a two handed chop, basically just taps him on the helmet, more harassment than intent to injure, then Crosby just slides into Niskanen, but there's definitely follow through on the crosscheck, that was more than Niskanen just trying to brace himself for the collision.

They probably just had a meeting and said "we can't let Crosby get to the net umolested, we have to start making him pay a price, go for the head, he can't take any rattles to the noggin", nothing the coach told them to do, the just said it amongst themselves

I sit and I defend the hit. Should have been a penalty fine, but throwing him out of the game was unnecessary and a 20 game suspension is ludicrous. He tried to push him away, not cross check him, you don't cross check on purpose with your hands that close together. It's called finishing your check and catching Crosby in a weird spot because he's falling and off balance.

Crosby is a pussy, who can't take any head shots. All there is to it.
