Take it easy on the butter and thyme, and simmer it down for an extra half hour or so. Also, i added extra beef granules, and just used provolone cheese.

Walmart, man. They dropped prices low as fuck for Thanksgiving. 5 lbs bags of potatoes for $0.97. The large bag of carrots (the really big one) for just over a dollar. 6 lbs of chicken breast for $10.00.
