I was ambitious & greedy, and not thinking about my brothers. This is the downside of liberty.
I was just into girls

the good part of the Woke school was that it was very sexualized

they didn't frown on fraternization, they encouraged it

there were lots of cute girls and we would just make out with them at every recess and all through lunch

I just carried that on in the public high school, but our middle school was like a training camp for that

all the things that public school might try to discourage, the Woke school encouraged

smoking weed, skipping class, getting hot & heavy with girls, that was practically part of the curriculum

I'm reading Brave New World by Huxley back then, and suddenly it dawns on me who these teachers are

at the same time, they were abusive

if you ever started questioning the Brave New World, they got mean, they even got violent

like first they would dress you down, if you then said whatever, I'm out of here, you ain't the boss of me

then they'd lay whupping on you, kick you, punch you, throw you to the ground

even at that young age, I was like : this is a cult, this is like Jonestown up in here

Ayn Rand convinced me I wasn’t a Republican, and JFK spoke the truth of liberty but in the end, it was just the past and this forum who has like-minded thinkers.

We are few and ineffectual; it’s miraculous liberty got any traction at all. I am thankful.

my father didn't teach the American religion like that

he slipped it in metaphorically, like talking about Babe Ruth while we were sitting in Yankee Stadium

my father would play devil's advocate

he would argue the adversary side,

see what I would come up with in defense of America, how I would defend her,

I had to sharpen my arguments under fire, full court press

The past seems so naive & innocent; capitulation or violence are the only alternatives now.
