I'm going to stick with my wife and her family, I have right of return, but that is at my discretion.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 5:26 pmDid you move to the U.S. while I wasn’t looking?
My wife has a great job here, I can't just pick up and leave right now.
Pretty sure there are Americans living all around the world, America takes no position against dual citizenship.

When I was in college, only Israeli Jews could have dual citizenship after 18

I never went to college, I was serving the American Supreme Allied Commander.

You timed it perfect: young enough to keep your U.S. citizenship, old enough to catch the glory years.

My father was American, it wasn't anything I planned.
I served the free world against the Warsaw Pact, to stave off a thermonuclear war.

My father came back to Canada to marry my mother.
He became a Canadian Nationalist, he wanted to embrace Canada and he wanted Canadians to embrace him.
He none the less defended and upheld the constitution of the Republic of the United States of America.
He was very angry about Vietnam, but he did not hold the republic responsible for it.
Thus he raised me with the American religion, to believe in the ultimate righteousness of the American people.
The one thing he could never embrace in Canada was the Anti-Americanism
I can't abide that anymore neither. Canadians want me to hate my own kin, can't do it.

From what I understand. No one is allowed to have dual citizenship that being said another sovereign nation recognizes you as a citizen that is their prerogative.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 5:36 pmWhen I was in college, only Israeli Jews could have dual citizenship after 18

Whatever additional obligations an American takes on; is his burden alone.
America first, you have to answer the call, your additional obligations are not America's problem.
