Another possibility...

Who here thinks lots of people could have done what I did if they had the time/money/inclination?

p.s. I remind you that I'm the only one who has ever done it.

I'm doing it, so I don't know, would I like more money, sure, but that time will come when things fall into place.

That's laughable. I think you're the best example of what the problem is.

I play the long game. I have a family, I have a job, I am working on my first real book. If you mean do I want to work my life away through multiple educational degrees and become an overly pompous ass... sure... more money and time would be great, but the rest... forget it.

Would I want to become you though? No, not even close.

This thread looks like a cry for help. You need to work on your personal fulfillment, dude.

As TC pointed out, many of us are working on real-life, and that takes just as much dedication as finishing classes for degree count.

Also, you seem to be confusing recognition with general fame. One matters in your life, the other is just general awareness of your existence.

Interesting how most people log off with only the haters remaining.

I think I got enough to write about...

p.s. Thank you to whoever participated.

Pfft, I don't hate you, I just strongly disagree with you.

(I do a lot more but let's start with that.) I did it because it's the most impressive thing ever... In my opinion. It's rarer & way more difficult to achieve than any athelete, and movie stars aren't anything special either. Imagine my surprise when I found out most people don't give a Tinker's Damn?! Many, maybe even most, people are dismissive & downright nasty when they find out. There is one group who respond like I expected: young, White males. Not all, mind you, half are still nasty. Theories anyone?

p.s. I thought I'd bring this up while StA is taking a 10-count.
I don't get why people would feel the need to get rude or dismissive when you recite your achievements, but I do understand the indifference in most cases. If they are not people who you are going to work with professionally, people who have an acute need or use for your wide degree of skills and achievements, or if they're not family or friends, why should they care? Not talking about hatred, jealously or whatever, but simply indifference. If your achievements don't really reach them, if you can't show them or make them relateable and connect your achievements to things that your audience care about, well...then they're not gonna care. People are the center of their own universes.

TC's calling for humility, but I'd say it's more about confidence, or at least projecting it. Those who become famous as the most competent in their fields, rarely ever need to list their actual achievements audibly to their listening audiences. Meaning they managed to get that across in some other way. Maybe instead of listing skill, educations, achievements in an audible or written listform, maybe you could try weaving it into conversations in a subtle manner. Like steer the conversation unto a legal subject you know about, giving you an opportunity to weave your high degree of legal education into the conversation. But in a way that seems casual. Show your achievements, make them alive for your audience.

I'm currently googling what people have said about you, mostly in regards to your political ambitions and I came across this:

http://www.columbian.com/news/2016/jul/ ... 7th-pos-2/
Colwell is eloquent in espousing his ideas but, as Harris noted, “It’s really important as we say these things — how do we get there?” That is pertinent in considering this contest. Hash and Colwell are filled with idealistic notions; Harris has demonstrated an ability to actually get things done.
No idea if their portrayal of you is true, but even from a media outlet that encouraged people to vote for you, their image of you is one that apparantly hasn't "demonstrated an ability to actually get things done". Yeah, as DB said.. life's unfair. It may not be the truth, but you somehow gave them that impression, and it indicates that "gettings things done" is more impressive than "idealistic notions". At least according to that newspaper.

Another impression of you was:

Martin Hash, on the other hand is a viable opponent. One of the most educated and intelligent men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, he is an “attorney, accountant, Professional Engineer, U.S. Patent Agent, general contractor, and successful CEO of a high technology company.”

A very accomplished man indeed.

But, he at times speaks well above people and that might not resonate well.
Notice how good both articles spoke of your qualities as a candiate then, and that what they're really criticizing is your communication method or technique?
