Add Colin Quinn to the list of awesome guys from that era!

I wrote the Quinn thing and just noticed what you wrote. Talk about being a step ahead! You rock!
Norm is great. Never got into Carolla though.

Not going to lie, tempted to make a "Tough Crowd" thread, and just post the best of that amazing show.

Patton is hilarious. A couple of his albums deserve to be up there on the wall.

Lucky Louie, anyone?

Louie is funny but his show is really dark. Darker than Seinfield.

Here is another comedian:

Rogan was mentioned above. ;) He is quite an interesting dude actually.

Dark comedy is where it is at for me. Shine a light on that ugly underbelly of what being a human means and then point at it while laughing about it. Because we all have that dark shit about us in varying degrees. Pretending it doesn't exist is just denial.

Even my favorite clean comics have a dark element to them.

Just kidding.
Wanda Sykes. She gets relegated to second banana in mainstream comedy these days, but her standup is amazing.

I should also mention Lewis Black for political and social commentary. I prefer him to Jon Stewart for that genre - Stewart is the greater wit but no one does biting, spot-on sarcasm like Black. Listen to his Carnegie Hall recording.

Yeah, really do not remember a lot about Rogan comedy career other than he stated that Carlos Mencia and Dane Cook stole his jokes.

I also like Jim Gaffigan's hot pockets routine although, I really don't remember anything new for that guy.
