It's not doom and gloom, Hartman is a useful player, and the pick Nashville gave up is a late first, which is basically just a glorified second.
After you get out of the top five to ten picks in the draft, it's a crap shoot, so if it's not a lottery pick, it's not doom and gloom.

Ottawa giving their lottery pick to the Avs for Duchene, just as they are about to tank, that's gonna be doom and gloom.

Yeah I messed that post up.... what I meant to say was the pundits and drunks went from doom and gloom to sunshine and cup talk overnight after the Jets game last night. Lots of worriers were sending up white flags yesterday afternoon regarding the Jets game.Smitty-48 wrote:It's not doom and gloom, Hartman is a useful player, and the pick Nashville gave up is a late first, which is basically just a glorified second.

Hawks are 4 games out of the wild card, with a month to go. Fighting back to .500.
Not worried whatsoever.

Nasville's got the edge on post season experience, but the Jets are a monster, they're about as loaded up as it gets.Fife wrote:Yeah I messed that post up.... what I meant to say was the pundits and drunks went from doom and gloom to sunshine and cup talk overnight after the Jets game last night. Re: NHL 2017-2018
Latest THN power rankings are out, Nashville is #1, but I still have my doubts that they can beat Winnipeg, perhaps Pekka Rinne will simply outplay Connor Hellebuyck, but if not, I don't like how they match up against the Jets.
Preds have a good top four D, that's tru, but Winnipeg's D is a beast as well, and once you start getting into the match ups, line for line, Preds looking a little thin at forward compared to the Jets, the Jets top two lines are better, but it's when you get further down that the clear difference is apparent.
Case in point, compare the third line matchup;
Preds third line is Hartnel-Bonino-Jarnkrok.
Jets third line is Laine-Stasny-Ehlers, which could be a top line on half the teams in the league, including the Preds.
You're down to the third line matchup, and Patrik Laine and Nick Ehlers are coming over the boards? Yoikes, that's ridiculous, Jets are loaded up to the absurd.

With Fisher back and Hartman in there now, we'll probably see Hartnell and Sissons taking turns on the pine. Fish back tonight, I expect Hartnell will be scratched.
They got some depth, now.

Not like Winnipeg, not even close, alls I'm sayun'.Fife wrote:They got some depth, now.
Mike Fisher? Hasn't even played this year, he's an aged toothless crone these days, and he's matching up against who? Andrew Copp? Copp will skate circles around him, Fisher's gonna get rolled methinks, Mike Fisher is not Mike Fisher of yore, he's a bubble player who really couldn't make the cut on any other team.
Next line up, Bonino against Stasny between Laine and Ehlers? Bonino line gonna get rolled methinks.
