My ancestors were not only forbidden to marry Celts, they couldn't even marry Catholics, and not just all the way back, couldn't even marry a Catholic in my family, in the 1960's, my old man was a Beatnik, but ultra conservative as they were, my mother's family weren't even bothered by that, so long as he wasn't a Papist, fair enough.

There has to be more to this story that you are not telling. There exists no prohibition or even disapproval for marrying within the Catholic Church. More likely, the Eastern Rite parish was not going to do a Roman rite wedding, not that they refused to accept a marriage between a Roman rite Catholic and an Eastern Rite Catholic.

Anybody in communion with the Church can go to mass at any Catholic parish, including Eastern Rite. It would be weird, but not somehow forbidden.

Well if you stop importing white people, then it will take even longer to get back to a 90% White America, not only was it going to take a damn long time to get there by stopping all-non white immigration, now you just added at least another decade to that timeline by shutting down all immigration. You'll be dead before America is back to 90% White at that rate, and probably long dead.

Well, what I was talking about before was allowing Americans to freely associate. Let us have black communities and white communities and multiracial communities. Let people choose where they want to live.

We could even break this out into regions where laws favor one race or ethnicity moving in rather than the others.

That's your future. That, really, is the ultimate outcome of this open door policy you are defending here. Because I don't know if you've notice, but very few Americans are happy and it's getting worse the more "diverse" the country becomes. Diversity plus proximity equals war, and to avoid the sectarian conflict you and yours has made possible, we need to find some consensus about how to let each other divide up a little and still coexist within some kind of "America".

We need to accept that this was a terrible idea, that identity politics is the new normal, and then work out some compromises to allow people to live and let live. There's going to have to be ethnic areas scattered around North America now. We have no way to avoid that but war.

Nope. They had to get married in my dad's church. It was a disappointment, because my mother waited her whole life to be married in her church. My dad had no feelings on the matter. Her local parish told her the only way was to get approval directly from Rome, and she didn't think it was worth the hassle. This was in 1962.
