Yeah it's funny how that figure comes up smaller than last time every time it gets calculated.

He gets such little credit for starting WWII. You could add another 100 million to his score.

Well if you just want to talk about death camps the figure is estimated at 11 million by most holocaust historians. 6 million is just those who were Jewish.

However if you add up all the lives lost in the European theatre of WWII you get about 40 million. Every single one of them died because of Hitler.

They did not all die because of Hitler. Most of them were Russians and Germans, and those two were going to have it out with or without Hitler.

Hitler was responsible for tens of millions of deaths. So was Stalin. Neither were anything but a megalomaniac and fundamentally evil. Arguing over who was worse is beyond silly. We don't know what would have happened had Hitler not taken control of Germany, nor do we know what would have happened if someone other than Stalin took over Russia. All we know is how it played out in the 1940s. I don't think it was a deterministic "truth" that Germany and Russia would kill each other in the tens of millions.


Off topic but back to the movie topic, Transpotting was nothing compared to Requiem for a Dream. Those are two movies I wish I hadn't watched and no it wasn't worth it in the least. I also wish I hadn't seen Running Scared. These types of movies portray evil and drudgery but I now I think why bother what does it really say or teach you...and entertainment well I can and should go elsewhere for that.
