Cops took the idea from the thin red line in military culture. As if the cops are this thin line keeping society safe from murderers (which is laughable given recent events).

Yeah, it's pretty fucking frightening. It's amazing that people still fly and display this symbol in the aftermath of events like the Daniel Shaver murder. As if this "thin blue line" is the only thing standing between us and being murdered..
