It had run its course, if Smitty Four Eight can abide it, it's all good.

I can only imagine how it would look nowadays with what Dan's current median fan probably looks like. Whatever his inspiration was, I'm thankful that he simply hit the self-destruct button rather than put a group of manholes and women in charge of "moderation" which would have been a very sickening purge indeed.

Agreed. Nukedog saved it from debasing itself. He saved Carlin, freed him to move on.Fife wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 2:19 pmI can only imagine how it would look nowadays with what Dan's current median fan probably looks like. I like it here, I'm still Dan's friend, but Marty Hash is more in line with my principles.

He burned the village to save the village....
Ah well...
It was tinder dry and the lightning was all around...
Just a matter of time, Nuke or no Nuke...
Dan was looking for an excuse to get out of Common Sense and the Forum.
Truth was he had no more ideas.
Trump stumped him. He succumbed to the mass hysteria... Stop, drop and roll.
It's a good thing he milk the Bronze Age a bit more from his prime podcast real estate.

Re: Peace
The guy was always good to me, even after I laid a beat down on him.
I never really bought into his mantra, in fact all I did was play devil's advocate from the beginning.
I was always just there to hang out, with Carlin and the goodfellas, in the virtual pub.
So I never took offense to him selling out, cause he never sold out on me.
We parted on good terms, and I'm glad for it.

Take care StA. Sorry I was late to the posting. We disagreed on many a thing over the years, but I wish you nothing but hope and happiness for the future.
All those years of him calling, no pleading, on the show for any outsider to win the Presidency and then he bails when wasn't his guy.
I actually blame Dan's meltdown on you (and me a bit) for calling him out on his hypocrisy and back-peddling towards the end. I forget the argument but I had never seen Dan more confrontational to us and a few others than right at the end. A year or two before the closure I started questioning his logic in the CS podcasts. He seemed to have a position of "no position" and was (to me) constantly contradicting himself and spending an hour-long talk to make absolutely no point. I think he wanted out because so many of us were starting to call his BS on stuff and Trump's win was just the final nail in the coffin.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 7:18 pmThe guy was always good to me, even after I laid a beat down on him.
