Re: NFL 2016
As a longtime Packer fan, here's my insight.
- Packers would be a sub-.500 team without Rodgers.
- They are wasting him almost exactly the same way they wasted Favre. By being too stingy about picking up pieces via FA.
- Same apologist story from WI media. Team was decimated by injuries. The real problem is a lack of depth (injuries happen to every team) and playmakers other than Rodgers.
- Atlanta is a complete team. Even with a healthy team the Packers would have lost
- Capers defense once again gives up a ton of yards and points in a playoff loss, yet he still keeps his job.
- Packers need to invest in some quality free agents of Rodgers will end up with the same numbers of SB wins as Favre.

Packers definitely punched above their weight class the second half of the season. I think your analysis of the Packers is pretty good.

I don't recommend anyone try this, but if you spend ten hours drinking without eating anything, the remedy to how you're gonna feel the next day is to eat something.

That's just the nature of the NFL. What is Atlanta without Matt Ryan or hell Denver without Manning? Without Brees the Saints are the Browns.- Packers would be a sub-.500 team without Rodgers

Not true. Give me an average QB with a killer O-line, and defense, and I'll win the Super Bowl.clubgop wrote:That's just the nature of the NFL. Sure, that's nice but notice teams never have all those things? Salary cap. You might win one but that average QB will want more money, you get a low draft pick, and no cap room to seek FA, see Baltimore.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Not true. Tom Brady costs his team about $70 million a year. You can buy an entire defense for that.clubgop wrote:Sure, that's nice but notice teams never have all those things? Salary cap. He's making it because of his marketing value, not his playing ability.

And the two never stray far from each other unless you got multiple rings.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Tom Brady costs his team about $70 million a year. Drew Brees - One of the top statistical QBs of all time, maybe a couple of charity commercials?clubgop wrote:And the two never stray far from each other unless you got multiple rings.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Tom Brady costs his team about $70 million a year. Aaron Rogers - Solid, not great, raking in millions a year from State Farm, owns half of Green Bay, WI.
RG3 - Mediocre-at-best, Subway spokesman, gigantic paychecks.
