Re: NFL 2018-19 Season
I tried watching a Cards game earlier this season on the FB feed, and it was absolutely awful. Horrific.
Not quite as bad as trying to watch an average NFL game on Fox nowadays, but horrific nonetheless.
I heard Bocephus turned ESPN down on their proposed new MNF theme:
Are you ready for some ginned-up race baiting? Are you ready for even more political slant? Are you ready for some replay reviews? Are you ready for some DPI? Are you ready for some multiple 15 yard penalties?
All my moron buddies are coming over tonight!

Re: NFL 2018-19 Season
One thing I caught during a preseason game, Useless Joe Buck was talking to Perrero, about an illegal contact penalty. He actually said ‘the number of Illegal Contact penalties went down from 256 to 50 or so last year, and the passing yardage went down as well, so they’re going to “focus” on that more. The Competition Committee gets concerned when the Points Scored goes down, so they’re going to call that more this year’
Translation: ‘we haven’t neutered the defense enough for our marketing people. We think the game needs 20 touchdowns every week’
Fucking ridiculous.

We are going to go from "what the fuck is a catch in this league." to "what the fuck is a clean tackle."SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 7:24 amOne thing I caught during a preseason game, Useless Joe Buck was talking to Perrero, about an illegal contact penalty. Also take into consideration who would write such a story? You think the NFL or the big media corporate entities that invest in the NFL want to publish a story about how their billion dollar deals are being undermined and give attention to these people.

No, but I was still harboring a fantasy about a “free press”.

The left has seized game journalism, they have long held political journalism and have fully seized sports journalism show me where it ever existed.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 8:43 amNo, but I was still harboring a fantasy about a “free press”.

As expected. In a low-scoring game, they just start launching flags all over the defense to get the score up.
Fucking joke.
