What bothers me is that his arguments accept the Marxist claim that the only way capitalism can thrive is if the most desperate portions of the population are exploited for cheap labor.
As a fan of capitalism, I rather reject that notion, and think any one that presents it as an argument in favor of capitalism must not really understand the subject, and ought not be giving lectures.
You, as a true "fan of capitalism", are surely aware that America didn't start out with a minimum wage, vacation days, child labor laws, etc. In fact, if we *had* tried to start out that way it would've left countless American families in poverty, several large industries beyond American's reach, and slowed our Industrial development considerably.
Which is pretty much what the guy said.
I'd think a fan of capitalism would've been fine with such mundane observations being aired.
