No such thing as a jinx.
We lacked a creative midfield and failed to convert our chances in front of goal.
Not a chance we could have beaten France on Sunday.
The final is going to be one-sided.
Oh well, at least I've still got the anti-Trump riots to look forward to.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Anyone see what "fascist" banners Croatia fans supposedly had?
Or is this standard Euro/Left BS of anything that doesn't fit the narrow progressive worldview as being described as fascist
The funny thing is that what's actually authoritarian is the complete whitewashing by FIFA

No, some places in Eastern Europe it is the opposite of here. At the extremes of political ideology here in the US being a fascist is not socially acceptable anywhere for anyone, however a young college communist is cute and dismissed as youthful indiscretion. In places where Hitler was a passing fad but Stalin and oppressive communist were in power for generations the opposite is true. So by our standards they very well might have been fascist but for them it's a che Guevara tshirt.California wrote: ↑Fri Jul 13, 2018 7:20 amAnyone see what "fascist" banners Croatia fans supposedly had?

I guess Hitler didn't exterminate enough Slavs for them to see the problem.

Never thought of it this way, but it seems reasonable. I had a Che Guevara shirt when I was younger, didn't see the problem with wearing it, and still don't really object to people wearing it in the west. But damn, it would be offensive to wear in countries where communism caused a high death toll.clubgop wrote: ↑Fri Jul 13, 2018 9:11 amNo, some places in Eastern Europe it is the opposite of here. Anyway, rooting for Croatia in the final now. My predictions have been way off so far in the World Cup, but I think Croatia might win this one. Hopefully. But they're probably exhausted at this point, while France have exerted themselves far less to reach the final.
The bronze final in 98 was cool though. And I think Croatia can pull it off again.

Croatia are gnats they just aren't going away. France can take that class and shove it.
