My country and bluegrass bench is probably the most shallow of the major genres. I listen to all the BIGS, like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams and Garth Brooks.

... I’d throw Kenny Rodgers in there but I don’t know if he counts as country in Tennessee

Kenny Rogers and the First Edition are in the Pantheon; as a solo, meh.

Dwight Yoakam has been important to me for a long, long time.



I finally got to watch Sling Blade with my daughter a couple of weekends ago. There is so much to share with her now that she's old enough!
