lol, eminem's diss track response was lyrically much stronger but i liked MGK's song more

Same boat. Originally landed on team Shady, but the more I listened to Rap Devil the more I had to admit "Damn, this song does sound kinda better". Win-win tho, two good tracks for a genre that's been struggling to produce anything I'd listen to for a while.

Killshot was okay, it just wasn't like all his other diss tracks, which were insane. MGK's is pretty good, but the problem is, if you want to really knock Eminem off his throne, you'd have to come out and obliterate him. There are a lot of people that can write up a decent diss song, but in the end without a song that shatters Eminem, it just comes off as a nobody taking a shot at the king and missing.

There was no way MGK was going to dethone Em. But he never had to.
All he had to do to achieve a personal victory was survive, and soak up all the attention sent his way.

I don’t know what other win option MGK had. You can’t usurp a dude holding 50 platinum album certifications with a lone diss track. It would be like 21 Pilots taking down The Rolling Stones with one really good single.

I’m just glad they both made something I could throw on my 5k run playlist.
Which reminds me ... time to burn these beer carbs off.
