Rychel can't skate, he's got this weird skating style, it's just not NHL ready, he's got some hands around the net in the AHL, but he's never gonna get there in NHL, just too slow, period end of story. Valiev is completely fuckin' useless, he's a 5D on the Marlies, couldn't get a sniff with the Leafs in four years, including when they were the worst team in the league icing the worst defence in the league.StCapps wrote:Yeah if the Habs think Rychel and Valiev are going to turn into anything other than a completely disposable low end roster player on a shit team, at best, then they are in for a rude awakening. All they really got was a late second rounder and a bag of pucks thrown in.Smitty-48 wrote:It's funny to see the shoe on the other foot of the trade game with the Habs fans.
It's like, when the Leafs were tanking, you get Tobias Lindberg and Scott Harrington, and you're squinting at them trying to make them look like NHL players, but now looking back at it you're chuckling about it for grasping at those straws.
That's what the Habs fans got in Rychel and Valiev, but they're already talking about Rychel being a "former first rounder" and Valiev "potential top four on the left side"
Yeah, they're in for a letdown, Tobias Lindberg and Scott Harrington were actually better than Rychel and Valiev/ lulz.

Like, when the Leafs drafted Valiev, he was supposed to be the "future Roman Polak". Four years later, Leafs still playing Polak. lol.
"Future Roman Polak" was a low enough bar to start off with, but he couldn't even get over that, when he was in junior he kind of played chippy, but when he got to the AHL turns out he was soft as butter. Polak, except soft and light as a bird.
He's a goofy guy, he likes to clown around and be a card, I'd call him a gentle giant, except in four years he hasn't seemed to put on a pound of muscle, whatever he's been doing in the gym, it sho ain't what Polak does.

Did anyone's posts get deleted, edited or moved? Alright then, y'all are censoring yourselves. If an interesting topic gets discussed, hockey talk gets put on hold temporarily, you just have nothing of value to say, or if you do, you're too much of a pussy to post it.Montegriffo wrote:Looks like censorship to me.Speaker to Animals wrote:This really is out of hand.

No censorship here, Montez; just an old fashioned red-assing.
As in, just Smits realizing that he drifted into the deep end of the pool on the conversation and having to dog paddle his way back to the edge. When that happened he threw up the white flag and faded into the smoke-screen in his own way, with his little buddy helping out.
The thread ended about a dozen pages ago when the retreat signal went up. If there had been anything else to post in this thread, I or somebody would have done it.

It was interesting to hear the different racial theories around why Americans can't relax and enjoy a good time. Kind of expected that, but it was worth a thread, I guess.

It was more ethnic and religious than racial. We were all the same race. Early on, we were all subjects of the same crown. Our differences were mainly ethnic (Scots-irish versus Anglo) and religious (Puritan versus Anglican versus Presbyterian versus Quaker). You had small enclaves of Catholics in the South (Baltimore and former New France), but not enough to shape the character of the four American nations the emerged out of the English civil wars.

Stastny traded to Winnipeg, for a first round pick, fourth round pick and Erik Foley.

I don't see the need for Winnipeg to add anyone, they're loaded up, if they don't win the Cup, it's not going to be because they were missing a piece.
